Academics

the academic program

WCCUSD teachers deliver much of the core high school program, which includes Algebra 1, Biology,
English 1, 2, 3 and 4, Economics, Geometry, Government, Spanish 1, 2, and 3, U.S. History and World
History. Students earn high school credits and college units (see Graduation Requirements below).
Students graduating from MCHS must also complete an additional two 50-hour Community Internships, and a Senior Project.

Course scheduling at MCHS is both semester and block. Each course is usually listed on the transcript once, alphabetically, for the academic year with grades showing in both semester 1 and 2 columns for high school classes. When Service Learning, Community Internships are completed, a “P” (Pass) is entered on the transcript with 0 credits being issued.

Early College Seminars is not a credit bearing or graded course, and they will not show up on the student’s transcript. MCHS does not offer Advanced Placement or Honors classes. Many of the college courses taken by MCHS students are given Honors designation.
